Your picture of the nuggets makes Nugget Point make a little more sense to me. Did you catch any Aurora Australis when you were down there?
I was thinking of popping down there for some Aurora-spotting this Feb/March. Except I can't afford it so it's pretty unlikely :)
I didn't see any Auroras, although that would have been pretty fabulous, do you know if there is any particular time of year when they're more likely to appear? Mary and I would like to go down south again sometime later this year seeing as she missed out this time.
I've heard they are easiest to spot around dawn during high summer so March-ish I guess. Not knowing this at the time, my friend Eve and I went to Bluff in October, got up at dawn and climbed the highest hill and stood in the rain waiting. Nothing happened but the birdsong was possibly the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.
Wow great pics!
I have a love for lighthouses & Nugget point looks like a damn nice one
- So jealous of your shoes!
Beautiful photos, must have been an awesome trip! And I really like the fire screen :)
Them be some funky dancin' shoes Mr!
*jaw drops at Art Nouveau peacocks* gorgeous! Nugget Point is perfectly picturesque.
Great photos. They bring back memories as I was born not far from there at Owaka and spent a summer holiday at Nugget Point. Did you go to Canibal bay down there? We discovered it when we went out to Tautuku for my sister's wedding. Love your fire screen. Where did you get it?
Cool :) we passed through Owaka on the way to Papatowai - we didn't go to Cannibal Bay though.
Mary found the fire screen on trademe, although when we picked it up it was from a little curio shop in Takapuna.
Great Pictures!!!
I want Dan to get back from America already so I can drag him along on some scenic walks!! ^_^
You should of come on our bush walks at new years then! :P
ooh, i love the huge fanning fern picture, and the driftwood, and the nuggets is a postcard shot! looks like a wonderfully relaxing trip away... your fire screen is very unusual, very pretty..
Your dancing shoes looked pretty spiffy on ya and boy did they get a work out monday night!!!
Awesome pics too hun! I love nature shots, especially when they're goof nature shots! :)
I love picture posts! And the Guanyin figurine beside your fire screen is pretty!
Those pics make me miss green green (our name for NZ now) even more. I didnt think it was possible but dont worry, I am working on Nik for a speedy return :) Also your shoes are cool, do you have a pinstripe suit to go with them?
I have the black and red one I wore to your wedding, although I'd need to lose some wombat before I wear that again. I think I'd like to order a proper zoot suit one day.
I cant wait to see you dance. Maybe with Mary's 75c and your zoot suit you can tempt us back :) (at least for a holiday)
Soames is totally awesome when he dances....he's also our dance teachers little pet! ;P
Its Lisa btw Fern :D
Oh that is so sweet, teachers pet, he must be good!
So you dance too Lisa. Helen has tried to get me to do some classes with her but I fear I would make such a fool of myself. I only dance at clubs when I have had enough to drink to give me courage. I'm already cringing thinking about it :)
It sounds like fun though especially when suave outfits are involved.
Yeah my boy James and I do the same swing classes that Soames does :) It's heaps of fun!!!
And the great thing is no one judges you as every one is learning too....it's nice and relaxed :)
Such a beautiful place. We have a place called Isle of Wight near where I live and I can make comparisons with it. I wonder if that is what it will look like if we become Tropical :)
I love your Peacock Screen btw :)
Wow that is so beautiful. That must be a nice place to live. Especially for the wonderful beach. It looks so pristine. |
